James Ritzman has been shooting fashion, portraits, cityscapes, and events for over a decade, and now he is entering the world of wedding photography.
James was born in Seattle and grew up in Shoreline, WA. After graduating from Shorecrest and the Art Institute of Seattle, he moved to Edmonds, WA to pursue his passion for the visual arts.
His style of photography is primarily traditional and technical. He's not a fan of using "Instagram filters" or special Photoshop effects unless a particular picture warrants a special treatment. This makes for timeless images which won't look cringy years or decades from now.
Shooting a wedding is essentially a combination of event and portrait photography on the same day. The preparations, ceremony, and reception take place naturally in a variety of environments just like other events.
The family portrait portion of a wedding - be it inside or outside - is also similar to traditional portrait sessions but with more people involved.
James loves working with chill down-to-earth couples and has a particular fondness for the nerdier crowd, being an avid sci-fi, Marvel, Magic, Overwatch, and chess fan himself.
